Nick, Thanks. I'm all for a reasonable immigration discussion/policy. That's one of the reasons I come here. Also, I judge myself in the middle politically, so I don't mean to imply differently: the left has its own problems with "emphatic correctness" and "emo-progs" (H/T Mike Sax), cultural relativism, etc. I imagine you get a good dose of that being a professor. Not to say there's equivalence though. BTW, I'm not a Sanders guy, but Scott surprised me a little today with this:

"...he [Sanders] might be better than any other candidate,..."

But enough about screwy Yankee politics. I need to bone up on Canada. Dois-je savoir parler français? Est mon Google-translate évident?
